Carl was born and raised in Shanghai. He attended Shanghai Jiaotong University and majored in polymer chemistry as an undergraduate student. He worked on his study on hyperbranched polymers and finished his bachelor’s thesis in the lab of Prof. Ruijiao Dong. He is the ‘tool man’ in the group, killing insects, replacing nitrogen cylinder, etc. He is now studying Japanese and maybe someday he will be the tour guide on our journey to Japan.

Fun fact

Carl loves board games. He owns lots of them and stores them in one of the cabinets.

Carl is a member of the school baking club.
